“Wait on the Lord and He will direct your path.”
I hear so many people make statements like the one above all the time. Even though it’s not an actual bible scripture, there are so many scriptures in the bible that allude to the above statement.
But what does it actually mean to wait on the Lord? Does it mean to sit down on your couch and wait for God to speak in an audible voice as to what your next direction should be in life?
From what I understand, it means to first acknowledge that he is Lord of your life, pray for an understanding of whatever you need the Lord to direct you on, research what the scriptures say, begin to develop a plan of action as to what God directed you to do, and continue to pray for God’s guidance.
So, what do you think it means to “wait on the Lord”?

When I was in the military, and we had to wait for a general to arrive, we weren’t sitting around twiddling our thumbs. We busted ourselves cleaning, getting our affairs in order, getting in shape and presenting the most READY picture we could present upon his or her arrival. That’s how I wait on the Lord. Hey busy in the prep department so I can gain favor one God shows up. Good stuff, Melissa!
